Orchis House was one of the thirteen Houses of the Court of Night-Blooming Flowers.
Its canon was humor, and Orchis adepts approached Naamah's Service with joy, laughter and gaiety. They learned how to make patrons laugh and were known for their lighthearted demeanor. They believed that when Naamah slept with the King of Persis, it was for a lark.[2]

Orchis House chose an aquatic theme for the Midwinter Masque at Cereus House in Phèdre's youth, where adepts were dressed as mermaids and other sea creatures.
Alcuin nó Delaunay was contracted for an assignation with Mierette nó Orchis for her birthday, in part to allow Alcuin to experience joy in Naamah's Service.
In Kushiel's Chosen, a group of noblemen took Severio Stregazza to Orchis for a night of merriment.
In Kushiel's Avatar, the Dowayne of Orchis coaxed a Tsingani fiddler to play at Phèdre's fête for Hyacinthe.
